THE HALLORAN BUSINESS ARCHIVE
In 2020 the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum was gifted the business archive of Henry F. Halloran & Co., the company of Henry F. Halloran, spanning 60 years of urban and economic development in New South Wales from 1898 - 1953, including a focus on the Shoalhaven and South Coast.
This collection has been judged unique by leading Historian, Dr. Terry Kass, and is an important collection of never-before-seen lithographs, plans, objects, and photographs. It presents a view of urban development in the 20th century and the ideas of livable cities, managing population growth, and its implications. There are 10,000 items which need to researched cataloged and digitised.
The Museum is in the process of developing an exhibition which we will open in late 2023, to showcase its many curiosities.
Join us on our journey. Your donation today will help us to care for our collections, develop exhibitions and provide the opportunities for our visitors to engage with the rich history of our area.
